Spraying the glue on coffers.
On request of ALVO GRUPA GASTROMETAL we have constructed a robotized work station for spraying glue on coffers. Spraying is done on any coffer dimension of which does not exceed 2600x1200mm. Coffers are based to one of the corners of a positioning table. The system is equipped with sensors what eliminates possibility of running the program when one of the elements: table, compressed air, coffer or other component is missing.
In the application we used a Fanuc S-420F with RH controller. It communicates with a PLC Versa Max Micro from GE Fanuc and a Horner TUI control panel. The working station was fenced with a light curtain. Thanks to automatization, we have achieved:
• We have quadrupled the amount of coffers being glued per hour
• thanks to application of an automated glue feeder we have reduced three times the amount of glue needed
• Workers do not work in harmless conditions any more
• to change the dimensions of the coffer you only need to insert and accept new dimensions . It minimalizes possible idle time.
The application of an older type of the robot with w high-tech PLC causes the return on investment is possible within one year.
